His wife, actress and former Miss America Leanza Cornett , gave birth to their first child, a boy named Kai Harper Steines who weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21" tall (February 19, 2002).

2nd son Avery James (AJ) born (November 4th, 2003).

Co-host, with Lu Parker , of the 2005 Hollywood Christmas Parade (November 27, 2005).

His first job in TV was with KWWL News out of Waterloo, Iowa . His first big reporting story was to interview President Bush, who was visiting the area. Mark arrived at the press conference and announced to the Secret Service, "I'm here to shoot the President." Needless to say, the photo shoot/interview was put on hold while everything was sorted out!
